Berlin based production outfit Dan Reaves and Niels von Ahorn teamed up in 2003. After their first two releases under the Reaves & Ahorn guise got immediately snapped up by Paul van Dyk and released through his hugely successful VONYC.com download shop, things just somehow fell into place. The two got overrun with remix and licensing requests from british clubbing institutionMinistry of Sound, festival kings Cream, Paul van Dyk’s VANDIT Records and John Askew‘sDiscover Records among many others. With this kind of debut, there was no doubt that Reaves & Ahorn were going somewhere fast.
Their next club hit «Shifting Lives», released worldwide through VANDIT Records and unequivocally supported by the scene’s big players, was followed by a string of high-profile remix work for dance music giants Paul van Dyk («Detournement), Tiësto («Knock You Out»), Judge Jules feat. Cara Dillon («Ordinary Day»), Sean Tyas («Drop»), Darren Tate («Prayer For A God») and John O’Callaghan («Split Decision»).
But Dan & Niels haven’t confined their musical capabilities to just the recording studio. On stage, their enthusiasm and unique mixing skills are winning them an army of fans. With appearances at Germany’s biggest dance festival Nature One (60,000 capacity) and other huge events, such asMayday (with Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox and Sven Väth), the Berlin Loveparade andAirbeatOne festival (alongside Ferry Corsten and John Askew) other clubs and big events soon filled up the diary. In addition to the success in Germany, their status internationally has grown dramatically, with bookings everywhere from Berlin to Bali.
Reaves & Ahorn are hosting a monthly radio show «Digital Anthologies» with various worldwide radio stations (including afterhours.fm) airing the show.
With the rising popularity of their productions, guests mixes on Tiësto’s «Club Life», Paul van Dyk’s «VONYC Sessions» and Armin Van Buuren’s «A State of Trance», as well as a reputation as one of the most exciting German DJs to break through in recent years, the future looks very bright for Reaves & Ahorn!
